Client Overview

• Our client is a large institutional private equity investment manager seeking an experienced Interim Manager to provide gap coverage within its Fund Accounting team. This is a 6- to 7-month engagement supporting a high-performing team during a critical transition period.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Fund Accounting, this individual will oversee the review and approval of accounting and investor reporting deliverables across a diverse portfolio of private equity and venture capital funds. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly integrate into the team, work independently, and contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up.

Short Overview Of Responsibilities:

• Review and approve quarterly and annual fund accounting deliverables for private equity and venture capital funds.
• Oversee fund reporting across fund of funds, direct investment, and secondary investment strategies.
• Review fund accounting packages, management fee calculations, carried interest and waterfall calculations, and capital activity.
• Review and approve financial statements, audited financial statements, investor statements, and ILPA reporting.
• Review investment valuations and fund and investor performance reporting.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, investor relations, auditors, tax advisors, legal teams, and internal investment professionals.
• Support the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
• Identify issues proactively, solve problems independently, and provide guidance to the broader accounting team.

Profile For Success Should Include:

• Approximately 8 to 12 years of experience within private equity or venture capital fund accounting.
• Experience working within a fund administrator or directly on the fund accounting or fund finance team of an investment manager.
• Strong experience reviewing and approving complex fund accounting deliverables rather than solely preparing them.
• Deep understanding of private equity fund structures, investor reporting, management fees, carried interest, and waterfall calculations.
• Experience supporting fund of funds, direct investment, and secondary investment strategies.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment and able to become productive with minimal onboarding.
