Director of Accounting – Boca Raton, FL

Client:

Our client is a global retail organization seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, tax compliance, and key accounting operations. This role reports to the VP of Accounting & Reporting, leads three direct reports, and works closely with the global finance organization.

Short Overview of Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and consolidated U.S. GAAP financial reporting
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger analysis, reporting packages, and external audits
• Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including PPV analysis, reserves, transfers, landed costs, and COGS analysis
• Lead federal and state income tax coordination, sales and use tax compliance, tax provisions, and regulatory inquiries
• Maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting policies, processes, and procedures
• Serve as an accounting SME for new systems, technology implementations, and process improvements
• Lead and develop the accounting team while partnering across the global finance organization

You Should Apply If You Have:

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with a large CPA firm and/or a $300M+ revenue organization strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and tax
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
