Data Center Deployment Manager (Hyperscale ISP)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Deployment Manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of Inside Plant (ISP) infrastructure for hyperscale data center environments. This individual will oversee the delivery of white space buildouts from an empty shell through operational readiness, ensuring all network infrastructure, structured cabling, rack deployment, and equipment installations are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience managing large-scale hyperscale or colocation data center deployments and coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead all phases of ISP deployment projects from planning through final turnover.
• Manage multiple concurrent data center buildouts while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate activities between owners, general contractors, MEP teams, network teams, and installation vendors.
• Drive project execution through regular meetings, reporting, and risk mitigation.

White Space Deployment

• Oversee white space buildouts including:
• Structured cabling
• Fiber optic installation
• Rack & stack deployments
• Ladder rack and cable tray installation
• Fiber raceway systems
• Patch panels and cross-connects
• Meet-Me Room (MMR) infrastructure
• Ensure all installations meet customer specifications and industry best practices.

Infrastructure Coordination

• Coordinate deployment of network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and supporting infrastructure.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Critical Facilities, Construction, and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support infrastructure readiness for server deployments and customer turn-up activities.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage installation contractors, structured cabling vendors, and equipment suppliers.
• Review project milestones, manpower requirements, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project documentation requirements.

Quality & Commissioning

• Oversee infrastructure testing, validation, and documentation.
• Ensure proper cable certification, labeling, asset tracking, and as-built documentation.
• Support commissioning activities and final customer acceptance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing large-scale data center deployment or ISP infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or mission-critical data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Structured cabling systems
• Fiber optic infrastructure
• Rack & stack deployments
• Network infrastructure installation
• White space buildouts
• MMR and cross-connect environments
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple vendors.
• Proven ability to lead large infrastructure projects from design through operational handoff.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Hyperscale data center experience (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Oracle, or similar).
• Experience with brownfield and greenfield deployments.
• Knowledge of BICSI, TIA/EIA, and structured cabling standards.
• PMP, BICSI, or other industry certifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with commissioning and turnover processes for mission-critical facilities.
